You will be installing this on na2 (or other nonbaseline machine)
(You need to be able to run D2D from the account on that machine)
This application must be installed in the /awips directory!
These are the INSTALLATION instructions:
(Change permission to write into /awips)
Log into na2 as a normal awips user (not root or fxa)
su -
chmod 777 /awips
exit (back to normal user)
ftp the 3 files above into /awips
(Run installation script)
(-Fresh install-)
sh FXCinstall.bin (or ./FXCinstall)
Answer with the following:
y (/awips for FXC install directory)
1 (Install FXC)
yes (to license agreement)
(Change permission for /awips)
su -
chmod 775 /awips
exit
These are TEST instructions:
(To be sure everything works correctly)
In a terminal window, enter:
/awips/FXC/fsl/linux/run-server
All scrolling lines should be black - anything in red indicates an error.
The Users tab should show 3 users.
Leave this server window up.
In a different terminal window:
/awips/FXC/fsl/linux/run-FXCollaborate
Type in your first name (or other identifier)
In upper left corner, change "No Server" to your site.
Your name should show up in the run-server Users tab.
Close both of these apps.
These are CONFIGURATION instruction:
(To autostart with your local office server)
cd /awips
sh FXCinstall.bin (or ./FXCinstall)

choose your site
(To make an icon to start the program - every user will have to do this)
Right click on desktop
Create new Link to Application
Name - FXC
Click on the icon and choose - /awips/FXC/data/config/buttons/FXCicon.jpg
Execute - /awips/FXC/fsl/linux/BriefingTool
Note, use /awips/FXC/fsl/linux/run-FXCollaborate to only run the client.
(To enable "Send To Web" capability)
Edit /awips/FXC/fsl/linux/SendToWeb
source is where the .jpg is put by the FXC app (on na2)
target is the directory on LS1 to copy the .jpg to (for rsync to the web)
default is the .jpg that will be used as a default
(User puts in place by choosing File > Close Web in the FXC app)
